Modern commercial trucks, cars, SUVs and pickups can be equipped with many different types of transmissions, and the technicians at All Transmissions & Clutches have the experience and training necessary to work on all of them. We offer a towing service and stand behind our work with a comprehensive 12 month parts and labor warranty, and we have been serving the businesses and residents of Vancouver and Clark County for more than 30 years.
Manual transmissions remain popular with sports car enthusiasts because they provide a sense of control and involvement, but clutches wear over time and should be checked regularly to prevent more serious problems from developing.
Modern automatic transmissions are designed to provide hundreds of thousands of miles of trouble-free motoring. However, they are controlled by sophisticated electronic systems and should only be repaired and serviced by properly trained technicians.
Diesel transmissions are often called upon to handle enormous amounts of torque, and this can place great stress on their lines, linkages and internal components. However, diligent preventative maintenance including regular fluid changes and flushes can keep them working like new for years.
Heavy Duty Transmissions
Heavy duty transmissions are fitted to commercial vehicles and pickup trucks and SUVs that are expected to haul or tow heavy loads. They feature more durable parts and are designed to operate flawlessly under great pressure, but they can and do develop problems if they are not properly maintained and serviced.
All Wheel Drive Transmissions
All wheel drive transmissions are more complex than four-wheel drive systems because they send power to each individual wheel as needed. This kind of drivetrain was made popular on off-road vehicles, but carmakers are now fitting them to performance and luxury models due to their safety and handling benefits.
Continually variable or CVT transmissions are used when a vehicle’s transmission is connected to its driving wheels. In these situations. the axle to transmission connection is made using CV joints that are designed to move up and down and side to side while delivering power to the driving wheels. This is why front-wheel drive cars are able to move and steer at the same time.
High Performance Transmissions
Modern high performance transmissions are often fitted with complex dual clutches and sophisticated management systems, and diagnosing them properly takes proper training and years of experience. All Transmissions & Clutches have been keeping performance cars in Vancouver running right for more than three decades.
While racing transmissions may not be built with longevity in mind, they are expected to operate under torturous conditions for hours on end. Many of the technicians at All Transmissions & Clutches have raced cars themselves, and they may be able to suggest ways of coaxing even more performance from racing transmissions by upgrading components or making adjustments.
